Kevin Yu maintains a large private cello studio in Palo Alto and San Francisco.  He is proud to be a mentor for many bright young cellists ages 5 to 18, as well as adult students.  Kevin works with student ensembles through Santa Clara Chamber Music, and leads annual workshops for young cellists in Edmonton, Canada and in Taipei, Taiwan.  Kevin previously taught as an assistant for his teacher Irene Sharp, and at the Community School of Music and Arts (CSMA) in Mountain View.

Kevin is from Palo Alto, California.  He studied with Irene Sharp for many years.  After university, he participated in classes with Gary Hoffman while traveling extensively through Europe and Asia with his cello.   Kevin has performed in many countries including France, Germany, and most recently in Taiwan.

Outside of music, Kevin enjoys traveling to new places, playing badminton, and walking with his two dogs.
